On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman continues our coverage of the worldwide grappling revival by focusing on the ADCC Regional Championships (http://www.adccregionals.com/).

Three events are scheduled in the coming weeks in the U.S. on this newly-created circuit, which uses the same rules as those of the Abu Dhabi Combat Club's Submission Fighting World Championships.

On Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25, the ADCC Texas Championships will take place at the Legends Sports Complex in Spring, Texas, near Houston. The first day will feature a free seminar for registrants with ADCC standout and two-time finalist Pablo Popovitch, as well as weigh-ins and registration. After a rules meeting and late weigh-ins and registration, the tournament will begin Saturday at 9:30 AM.

The following weekend, Friday, July 31, and Saturday, August 1, the ADCC Las Vegas Championships will take place at Bally's Event Center. There is a similar format, with a free seminar for registrants that Friday evening with two-time ADCC champion Jeff Monson.

On August 14 and 15, the tournaments move north, as the ADCC Northeast Regional Championships take place at the Richard J. Codey Arena in South Mountain, New Jersey, near West Orange. Registrants will also have a free seminar with three-time ADCC champion Marcelo Garcia.

To introduce us to this important and innovative series of events, we spoke with Carlos Diaz and Brett Boyce of the ADCC Regional Championships. They explained the origin and goals of these events, how and why they are different from other grappling tournaments, precisely what the format for them will be, what their plans for future tournaments are, and much more.

MIKE JONES – LARRY MOSLEY TO BE STREAMED LIVE ON WWW.GOFIGHTLIVE.TV ON SATURDAY AUGUST 8TH

PHILADELPHIA— Some have called him the best prospect in Boxing. One thing for sure is that he provides excitement and on Saturday night August 8th, Mike Jones will face his toughest test as he take on former amateur standout Larry Mosley in a much anticipated main event from Bally’s in Atlantic City and all the action from this terrific card can be seen live on www.gofightlive.tv at 7:30pm eastern for a low price of just $5.99

The card is promoted by Peltz Boxing

Jones, 26, is one of boxing’s hottest and most-avoided prospects. His 17-0 record includes 15 knockouts. He is ranked No. 10 in the world by the World Boxing Association (WBA), No. 10 by the International Boxing Federation (IBF), No. 13 by the World Boxing Organization (WBO).

A pro since 2005, Jones won the vacant NABA title last summer when he knocked out Juliano Ramos, a Brazilian living in Boca Raton, FL, in six rounds at the New Alhambra in South Philadelphia.

Jones also has beaten Doel Carrasquillo, of Lancaster, PA; Israel “Pito” Cardona, of Hartford, CT, and Germaine Sanders, of Chicago, IL.

The Jones-Mosley title fight originally was scheduled for March 6 in Philadelphia, but Mosley withdrew six days prior when he injured his back in training. Jones knocked out late substitute Dairo Esalas, of Miami, FL, in front of a standing-room-only crowd at the Blue Horizon. More than 300 customers were turned away after the 1,346-seat building had been filled to capacity.

The fight was re-scheduled for June 6th but Jones suffered an injury and had to withdraw.

Prior to the Esalas fight, Jones K0d rugged Mexican Luciano Perez on Dec. 5 at the Sovereign Center in Reading, PA. Jones also has boxed in Las=2 0Vegas, NV; Spokane, WA; Niagara Falls, NY, and Salamanca, NY.

Mosley, 29, has a 15-3-2 record, 6 K0s. This will mark his second trip to Atlantic City, where he K0d Alexis Divison, of Miami, FL, on Aug. 4, 2005.

Jones and Mosley boxed on the same card March 3, 2006, at the New Alhambra. Most ringside observers thought Mosley was unlucky to be held to a 12-round draw that night by Miguel Figueroa, of Camden, NJ. Jones K0d Chris Gray, of Miami, FL, in two rounds in his second pro fight on the undercard.

Mosley followed the draw with Figueroa by boxing another 12-round draw, this time with world-rated Golden Johnson in Houston, TX, Johnson’s backyard.

In his last fight Oct. 24 in Carbazon, CA, Mosley lost a unanimous 10-round decision in a solid fight to 18-year-old Mexican phenom Saul Alvarez, who is 24-0-1, 17 K0s. Scores were 96-94, 97-93, 99-91.

The co-feature will be an interesting battle as undefeated Polish middleweight Patrick Majewski risks his undefeated ledger of 13-0 when he takes on the capable Willis Lockett in a bout scheduled for eight rounds.

Also on the card will be undefeated jr.welterweight Ronald Cruz (5-0, 3 KO’s) take on the tough Julias Edmonds (5-4) in a bout scheduled for six rounds.

In a six round Jr. Middleweight bout, Jamaal “Da Truth” Davis (9-5 6 KO’s) of Philadelphia takes on the durable Manuel Guzman (6-7-1, 2 KO’s) of Lancaster, PA

There will be three more bouts on the telecast.

“To have Mike Jones, who is a future star of boxing, and be able to broadcast a fight promoted by a Hall of Famer like Russell Peltz is an honor for us at www.gofightlive.tv”, said David Klarman of www.gofightlive.tv

“Mike Jones is a dynamic fighter and a lot of boxing fans are looking forward to seeing what kind of test a craft fighter like Mosley can give Jones.”
