Atlantic City, NJ - Unbeaten Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik (31-0, 28 KO's) of Youngstown, Ohio and No.1 contender(WBO & WBC) KO'd undefeated and undisputed world middleweight champion Jermain "Bad Intentions" Taylor (27-0-1, 17 KO's) of Little Rock, Arkansas. In the main event, for the 10,000 plus in attendance at the Boardwalk Hall and the millions watching on HBO sports world championship boxing, Taylor lost his WBC world middleweight championship title to the undefeated top ranked challenger Kelly Pavlik when referee Steve Smuger stopped the bout in the 7-round, of a scheduled 12-round championship contest.

Omar Sheika (27-8-18 KO's) a native of Paterson, NJ broke a bone in his right hand after landing his first punch, Omar Sheika KO'd, Tiwon Taylor, now (26-14-1-19, KO's) in the 4th round. Sheika, now fighting as a light heavyweight, is returning to action following more than a two-year layoff was a popular former title contender, who was sidelined with previous hand injuries, now faces a big obstacle in his quest for one more title opportunity.
