Gato set to face Rees on the Calzaghe-Jones Undercard

NABF Jr. Welterweight Champion "Gato Figueroa has officially been added to the undercard of November 8th clash between light heavyweight king Joe Calzaghe and Roy Jones Jr. Gato will be taking on Former World Champion Gavin Rees, Who's looking to rebound after a devastating lose, losing his world title to Andreas Koltelnik this past March. I'm heading to Las Vegas and Gavin Rees is on my hit list. On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman presents our final preview of the fight taking place this coming Saturday, October 18, between Kelly Pavlik (34-0, 30 KOs) and Bernard Hopkins (48-5-1, 32 KOs). The undefeated Pavlik, still the middleweight champion, will step up to light heavyweight to face Hopkins, the former middleweight and light heavyweight champion, in a 12-round fight at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and on HBO Pay-Per-View in the U.S.

At the final news conference held in New York Tuesday, October 14, we got the comments of both Kelly Pavlik and Bernard Hopkins about the historical importance of this fight and what to expect in it. We also have the comments of their trainers, Jack Loew, who trains Pavlik, and Naazim Richardson, who trains Hopkins.

In addition, we have comments about how the current economic crisis is affecting boxing and mixed martial arts from Melvina Lathan, chairperson of the New York State Athletic Commission, and promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank, which promotes Pavlik.
