Vinny Paz book signing at ‘Braggin’ Rights’ show Friday night, July 17 at Twin River Event Center, RI

PROVIDENCE– Five-time world champion Vinny Paz will have a special book signing of his biography, “Fight Or Die: The Vinny Paz Story,” July 17th at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln, prior to the “Braggin’ Rights” Pro-Am boxing card, presented by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment and Sports, Inc. (CES).

Books will be available to purchase and have signed by “The Pazmanian Devil” between 5:30-7:30 PM in the entrance area of the Event Center.

“I’m excited to be doing a signing for my true fans,” Paz said. “They were behind me during my career and they’re still in my corner. My childhood friend and author of the book, Tommy Jon Caduto, will also be signing. It seemed only natural that I do this at a CES show because my promoter and dear friend, Jimmy Burchfield, has always been one of my biggest supporters. I also want to thank Twin River for hosting this and I’m always happy to be there in such a beautiful casino. I’m really looking forward to watching the fights after my signing.”

Interstate Milltown rivals, EBA New England lightweight champion Eddie “The Puerto Rican Sensation” Soto (11-0, 4 KOs), of Pawtucket (RI), and challenger Sean Eklund (6-4, 1 KO), of Lowell, throw down once again in a 6-round rematch. Eklund is trained by his uncle, “Irish” Micky Ward.

Unbeaten junior welterweight prospect “Hammerin’” Hank Lundy (13-0-1), silver medalist at the 2005 National Golden Gloves Tournament, takes on Providence’s upset-minded Josh “Bam Bam” Beeman (4-3-3, 2 KOs), 2000 Eastern Olympic Trials champion, in the other 6-round co-main event.

CES’ latest signee, super middleweight Vladine Biosse (1-0, 1 KO), who played football at the University of Rhode Island and Dean College, has moved from the gridiron into the ring. He makes his CES debut in a 4-round fight against tough Rafael Jastrebski.

Also on the July 17 card are a pair of unbeaten local favorites, cruiserweight Jay Holland (2-0, 1 KO) vs. Billy Greenwalt, and exciting light welterweight Diego Pereira (3-0, 2 KOs) vs. TBA, in 4-round bouts.

Six amateur bouts are scheduled, featuring some of New England’s top non-pro boxers: Tommy Duquette (Boston Boxing), Waltham (MA) vs. Steve Hollden (Balletto), Smithfield (RI), 141 lbs.; Anthony Marsella (Tillinghast), Smithfield (RI) vs. Christobal Marrero (Tomasello), Saugus (MA), 125 lbs.; Nick DeLomba (Balletto), Cranston (RI) vs. Jimmy Smith (Manfredo’s), Portland (ME), 152 lbs.; Mario Morales (Uptown Boxing), Southbridge (MA) vs. Thomas Falowo (Manfredo’s), Pawtucket (RI), 178 lbs.; George Yawo (Manfredo’s), Providence vs. Adam Medeiros (TNT Kickboxing), Fall River, 152 lbs.; Leonedra Lee (The Battle Ground), West Warwick (RI) vs. Stephanie Steeves (Winsor Boxing Club), Burlington (VT), 132 lbs.
