UNDEFEATED SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT JOEL CASTILLO TO HEADLINE AT HAVOC BOXING 4 ON SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 10TH IN BROOKLYN, NY‏

On Saturday night, September 10th, undefeated Super Middleweight Joel Castillo will headline an big night of boxing that will be promoted by Rob Diaz’ Havoc Boxing Promotions that will take place at the Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn.

Castllo of Bronx, New York has a record of 9-0 with six knockouts.

Castillo turned pro in July of 2006 and won five fights in a six month period before a three year hiatus from the ring.

Since he has returned, Castillo has won four straight which includes his electric eighteen second destruction of Billy Cunningham. In his last bout he scored a fourth round stoppage over Jesse Orta on May 20th.

In a ten round female Super Featherweight bout, Amanda Serrano (10-0-1, 6 KO’s) will take on a opponent to be named for the IBF World championship.

In a second six round co-feature, Santander Silgado will take on upset specialist Harvey Jolly in a Cruiserweight bout

Silgado of Colombia has compiled a record of 18-0 with sixteen knockouts. The twenty-five year old has captured regional belts throughout South America.

Silgado turned pro with twelve straight knockouts before winning the WBA Fedecaribe as well as the Colombian Cruiserweight titles with a third round stoppage over Jose Chiquillo.

He defended the WBA belt once before capturing the WBA Fedebol title with a unanimous decision victory over Sergio Martin Beaz.

In his last bout, Silgado stopped Cesar Dairo Herdia in one round on January 24, 2009.

Jolly of Adrian, Michigan has a record of 12-17-1 with eight knockouts.

Silgado better be at his best as Jolly has scored some big wins over the likes of Otis Mills (2-0-1); Tyrone Smith (4-0-1); Villi Bloomfield (6-0); Evans Quinn (18-2); Nick Iannuzzi (12-0); Umberto Savigne (2-0); Silgado is coming off a eight round unanimous decision over Joshua Harris (7-4-1) on June 18th

Anthony Irons (3-0-1, 2 KO’s) of Brownsville section of Brooklyn, NY will see action in a six round Welterweight bout against Leon Green (4-1, 1 KO) of Brooklyn.

Ryan Rumaya of New York will be making his pro debut against an opponent to be named in a four round Super Bantamweight bout

Jr. Middleweight prospect Denis “Da Momma’s Boy” Douglin (13-1, 8 KO’s) of Marlboro, NJ will take on an opponent to be named later in a six round bout.

Zachary Ochoa of New York will be making his pro debut against William Ware (1-3, 1 KO) of Tennessee in a four round Jr. Welterweight bout.

Armin Mrkanovic (1-1) of Queens, NY will take on Robert Brown (0-2) of Miami in a four round Cruiserweight bout.

Alvon Acosta (0-1) and Lykan Byfield (0-1) of Yonkers, NY will do battle in a four round Middleweight bout.

Undefeated Cletis Seldin (2-0, 1 KO) of Brooklyn, NY will take on an opponent to be named in a four round Welterweight bout.

Team Puerto Rico ShoBox Show at Roseland Ballroom, NYC, Saturday June 11th, ‏

Saturday's Boricua Invasion II will feature four more members of Team Puerto Rico: featherweight Luis "Orlandito" Del Valle (12-0, 10 KOs) vs. Dat Nguyen; junior middleweight Jonathan "Mantequilla Gonzalez (12-0, 12 KOs); and light welterweight Sanchez vs. Arroyo. Also scheduled for action are Team Puerto Rico light welterweight Jorge "Machito" Maysonet Jr. (3-0, 2 KOs); plus a special off-TV appearance by Puerto Rico-born light welterweight Gabriel "Tito" Bracero (15-0, 1 KO) of Brooklyn. The main bouts of Boricua Invasion II will be broadcast live on Showtime: The New Generation.

Boricua Invasion I & II Final Press Conference took Place Wednesday, June 8 at The Parlour Restaurant In New York City

On the precipice of Puerto Rican Day Parade weekend, the top young talent from the island of Puerto Rico gathered at the Parlour Restaurant in midtown Manhattan as they put the finishing touches on preparations for Boricua Invasion I & II, a two day boxing extravaganza set to take place this weekend in Times Square.






On Friday, June 10, ESPN2 Friday Night Fights will be live from the Roseland Ballroom in New York City as Kenny Galarza (14-1, 14 KOs) takes on Irving Garcia (17-6-3, 8 KOs) in a battle of welterweight contenders. In the co-feature, welterweight terror Thomas Dulorme (11-0, 10 KOs) faces former world champion DeMarcus “Chop Chop” Corley (37-17-1, 22 KOs). Other Puerto Rican fighters featured will be 2008 Puerto Rican Olympian Jose Pedraza (2-0, 2 KOs) in a junior lightweight contest, junior welterweight prospect and Bronx native Steven Martinez (9-0, 7 KOs), Newark resident Alex Perez (13-0, 7 KOs) in a welterweight contest and New York junior lightweight Emanuel Gonzalez (8-0, 7 KOs).


















On Saturday, June 11, Showtime’s ShoBox: The New Generation cameras will be rolling, again at the Roseland Ballroom, for Boricua Invasion II when featherweights Luis Del Valle (12-0, 10 KOs) and Dat Nguyen (17-1, 6 KOs) battle for the NABA title. In the co-feature, the NABO and WBA Fedelatin super welterweight titles will be on the line when Jonathan Gonzalez (13-0, 13 KOs) battles veteran Richard Gutierrez (26-6-1, 16 KOs). Also on the show is über popular junior welterweight Gabriel Bracero (15-0, 1 KO), female super featherweight from Brooklyn Amanda Serrano (9-0-1, 5 KOs), and junior welterweight Jorge Maysonet, Jr. (3-0, 2 KOs).



















On Sunday, all of the key participants will be riding on the New York Daily News float in the Puerto Rican Day Parade.

Undefeated Amanda Serrano Fights for NABF title vs Jennifer Scott, June 11th

Undefeated super featherweight Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano fights at home for her first professional title Saturday night, June 11 at the historic Roseland Ballroom in New York City.

The 23-year-old Serrano (9-0-1, 5 KOs), a native of Puerto Rico who is now fighting out of Brooklyn, faces Jennifer Scott in an eight-round bout for the vacant North American Boxing Federation title.

“I’m the best female fighter in New York City and I’m going to prove it June 11th,” said the slick-boxing younger sister of former world lightweight contender, Cindy Serrano. “My sister fought for a couple of titles and I won the New York Golden Gloves, but this is my first title shot as a pro and I’m ready and prepared to win. My goal is to win the world title and then fight in Puerto Rico. (Amanda was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Brooklyn when she was one)

“This is my first fight in New York City as a professional boxer. I’m very excited to know that I’m going to have a lot of family, friends and fans there supporting me. I want them all to see how far I’ve progressed. It’s going to be a fun night.”

Serrano would have preferred to fight the former NABF champion, Maureen Shea, but she was stripped of the belt. “She has no heart,” Serrano blasted Shea. “She was offered a fight against me but turned it down and was stripped. Maybe if she has a heart transplant we can fight in the future. It would have been nice – Brooklyn vs. Bronx – if she took the fight.

“I want to be the face of women’s boxing. I can box and brawl. I want to be a role model for girls to look up to. My opponent for this fight doesn’t have a great record (2-3, 2 KOs) but she’s tough and coming to fight. She’s an undefeated MMA fighter, too. I never take anybody lightly. Look what happened to Maureen Shea. She was knocked out by a fighter with a 2-2 record. My last opponent (Ela Nunez) had never been knockout until I stopped her and I want to be the first to knockout Scott.”

Serrano also wants to be proudly displaying her new NABF title belt around her waist the day after her fight, hopefully, on a float in the New York City Puerto Rican Day Parade.

“No female fighter sacrifices like Amanda,” Boxing 360 Founder & CEO Mario Yagobi noted. “She’s an exciting fighter with a great future. Bob (Duffy, Boxing 360 Director of Boxing) worked very, very hard to make this title fight happen. We’d like to thank the NABF for sanctioning it. Amanda is working hard to be world champion. No woman dedicates herself to boxing like Amanda. Boxing is her life.”

Amanda is presently rated No. 4 by independent source WBAN, as well as No. 6 by the WIBA.

“Amanda’s main goal is to win a world title and this is her first step,” Duffy commented. “She’s fighting at home the night before the Puerto Rican Day parade. I want to thank the show’s promoters, Lou DiBella and Gary Shaw, for having this title fight on their card.”
