STAR BOXING AND RUSSO'S ON THE BAY: VIP BOXING ON APRIL 28TH

On April 28th Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing will present an exciting night of boxing at the elegant Russo's On The Bay in Howard Beach, NY. The show will be the first installment of Star Boxing's new series, "VIP Boxing."

Headlining the show will be Queen's own heavyweight fan favorite Vinny Maddalone (31-5, 22KO). Maddalone, with his all-action style, has been exciting crowds since he first turned pro in 1999. Maddalone carries dynamite in both his hands and is always looking to exchange heavy blows in close quarters, which is sure to make for an extremely exciting main event.

The co-feature bout of the evening features former WBO/NABO lightweight champion, Jorge "The Truth" Teron (22-1-1, 15KO), of the Bronx, NY. Teron has lightning quick hands and devastating power. Nine of his last eleven wins have come by way of knockout and at six feet tall he certainly looks like he is going to be a true force to be reckoned with in the lightweight division in the years to come.

The show will kick off at 7PM sharp with an hour long cocktail reception. Immediately following the reception a four course elegant dinner will start being served, at which time the first bout will go on. There will be cocktail service throughout, with an open bar running for the remainder of the evenings fights.

"We are very excited about our new series, VIP Boxing," stated Star Boxing President and CEO Joe DeGuardia. "I truly feel Russo's On The Bay is one of the premier banquet halls in the entire nation and we couldn't be more excited about teaming up with them to put together this show. Vinny and Jorge are two very exciting fighters that you know are always going to put on an exciting show, so we are really looking forward to this event on the 28th."

Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson

If you ask Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson, he would tell you he’d fight anyone that you put in front of him, and he wouldn’t be lying. Since first turning pro on February 13, 2003, the Star Boxing prospect has been telling anyone who would listen he was destined to become the next great heavyweight champion. Now 21 wins later against 0 defeats, Johnson is willing to put everything on the line, including a very good friendship, by challenging fellow American heavyweight hopeful Chris “Nightmare” Arreola (26-0 with 23 KOs). Arreola last fought on November 29th on HBO against Travis Walker (28-2-1, 22KO) stopping Walker in the third round.

Johnson’s promoter, Star Boxing CEO Joe DeGuardia said, “We think that Kevin is the best heavyweight in the world. On the other hand, Chris thinks he is the best and has his people telling him the same thing. Depending on who you talk to in the industry, one person will say Kevin is the best, another will say Chris is. So let’s decide who actually is the best and have these two great heavyweight prospects fight each other, plain and simple,” said “It would be a great fight for the fans, a great fight for the heavyweight division and a great fight for the U.S. The winner clearly cements themselves as THE best American heavyweight… and THE rightful challenger to the heavyweight champions out there.”

See you at the Fights.
Thanks for your time.

ATLANTIC C ITY, NJ- WBA number-five ranked heavyweight in the world, Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson will look to climb further up the Heavyweight ladder when he takes on the tough Matthew Greer as the main event of a big seven bout card that will originate from Bally’s Hotel & Casino is promoted by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing and will be seen exclusively on www.gofightlive.tv beginning at 7:30 pm eastern/4:30 Pacific time.

Johnson, of Atlanta, Georgia, has a record of 20-0-1 with seven knockouts, scored his most impressive win when he took out former WBA Heavyweight champ Bruce Seldon in the same ring on www.gofightlive.tv

Greer of St. Louis is looking to upset the apple cart as he is on a five fight knockout streak and hopes to improve on his record which currently stands at 12-3 with eleven wins coming early.

The co-feature is an evenly matched crossroads welterweight local turf war between Atlantic City’s Shamone Alvarez and former Olympic bronze medalist, Terrence Cauthen of nearby Trenton, New Jersey.

Alvarez is 19-1 with eleven knockouts, itching to get back in the win column after suffering his first pro loss to eventual IBF Welterweight champion Joshua Clottey last December in Las Vegas

Cauthen resurrected career this past July when he scored an emphatic unanimous decision over then undefeated (16-0) Alexis Camacho in San Antonio, Texas. Cauthen has a very impressive record of 33-4 with nine knockouts.

With a lot at stake, expect both combatants to leave everything in the ring.

Despite his recent loss to Johnson, Seldon will be in the ring tonight to once again hoping to thrill his hometown fans when the former WBA heavyweight champion takes on upset-minded Brad Gregory of Wichita, Kansas.

This is a must win fight for Seldon who boasts a respective record of 38-7 with thirty-four knockouts, considering a victory could very well lead to a significant match against former champion Lamon Brewster later in the month.

Another featured participant is New York’s KO artist, Curtis “Showtime” Stevens looking to check the chin of Ray Smith of Arkansas.

Also on the card is one of the most exciting prospects in the world, the nineteen year-old prodigy, Ramond “Tito” Serrano.

“This will be a terrific night of boxing” said www.gofightlive.tv vice-president, David Klarman.

“To have the number-five heavyweight, a true do or die welterweight, former heavyweight champion of the world and some of the biggest prospects in the game on world card is unprecedented and it shows the type of shows that gofightlive.tv is interested in bringing to the boxing fans all over the world.”

WORLD RATED MIGHTY MIKE ARNAOUTIS KNOCKING ON THE DOOR TO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

On Wednesday October 29th Star Boxing's The Pride of Greece, "Mighty" Mike Arnaoutis (20-2-2, 10KO) looks to continue his quest towards a 140 lb. world championship when he takes on tough Ben Ankrah (19-6-1, 9KO) in a ten round jr. welterweight contest at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. The Arnaoutis vs. Ankrah fight will be the main event and will be shown live on GoFightLive.tv, along with the rest of the bouts that evening. Arnaoutis is currently ranked in all of the major sactioning bodies top fifteen (WBO #7, IBF #10, WBA#11, and WBC #15). If Arnaoutis can get past Ankrah, he will be right in line to face the winner of the Kendall Holt vs. Ricardo Torres III fight for the WBO lt. welterweight championship, which is currently being held by Holt. Not only will a fight against Holt or Torres be a chance for Arnaoutis to win a world championship, it will also be a chance at redemption, being Holt and Torres are the only two men to have defeated Arnaoutis as a professional.

ARNAOUTIS WITH PROMOTER JOE DEGUARDIA

"Of course I am thinking about facing the winner of that fight, but first things first I know I have a tough fight in front of me on the 29th and I must take care of that fight first," stated the USBA champion Arnaoutis. Regarding whom he would rather face Arnaoutis's answer was simple, "Whoever has the belt that is who I want to face."

"On October 29th you are going to see one exciting night of boxing," stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO of Star Boxing. "We have put together a great card featuring "Mighty" Mike and Vinny Maddalone along with some of New York City's top up and coming prospects. The best part about these shows is the atmosphere that surrounds the event. You have all of these Greek fans coming out to support Mike and waving their flags and singing their Greek songs and then you have all the Italians doing the same for Vinny. Then you have these other guys on the cards whose friends and family come from the different neighborhoods and boroughs in NYC and they are doing the same for them. It really is like going back in time to the golden days of boxing when these type of events were going on almost every single week. It's great for boxing and it is also great for the city of New York. We look forward to seeing everyone at the show on Wednesday."

With the fight just days away, "Mighty" Mike looked to be in tremendous shape, as he stated he had yet another great training camp leading up to his bout with Ankrah. "Boxing is my life, and I take it very seriously. It doesn't matter who I am fighting I always put in my all in training camp as if every fight is for a championship. I am ready and excited to be fighting in front of all my Greek fans who are coming from Astoria and New York and New Jersey to support me. I want to thank my promoter Joe DeGuardia and Star Boxing for putting this fight together and I really hope everyone can make it out on Wednesday because I am promising I am going to put on a great show."

Roseland Ballroom is located in New York City at 239 W. 52 Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue. Doors open at 6:30 PM with the first bout scheduled for 7:30.
