The book takes you back from the early days of partying in the Bronx in the Parks, to Manhattan's club scenes, as Darlene Takes you on a hiphop musical stroll through her various dealings with legendary producers Strafe (Set it off), Donald Dee (Milira, SWV) and DJ Barry Bee and Doug E Fresh. Hiphop before the bling actually shows behind the scenes footage of the shows Darlene Lewis interviewed such acts as KRS 1, Tribe Called Quest, in their earlier stages of their career.
