ISRAELI SOLDIERS RAN NAKASH AND ELAD SHMOUEL FIGHTING INSIDE THE RING WHILE COUNTRY IS AT WAR

PHILADELPHIA )—On Friday night, February 6th, Ran Nakash will headline a big night of boxing at The Legendary Blue Horizon.

Fighting so far way from home usually isn’t a big deal for Nakash—or fellow Israeli soldier Elad Shmouel who will also make the trip—as this will be his eighth fight at The Legendary Blue Horizon and Shmouel’s seventh, however the circumstances around this fight are a little different for both

Nakash and Shmouel are in the Israel Defense Force. Nakash serves as Chief Commander of the IDF’s krav maga instructional division is the highest ranking professional authority in Krav Maga, while Shmouel is a First Sergeant in the Army.

In layman’s terms, Nakash is the chief instructor of hand-to-hand combat for the entire Israeli Army.

As most people know, Israel is at war with Hamas in Gaza and both men have been part of the war effort, and also served in the 2006 war against Hezbollah in Lebanon. With unrest in their homeland weighing heavily on their minds, Nakash and Shmouel will still make the trek to Philadelphia and apply their boxing trade in front of a packed crowd at The Legendary Blue Horizon on February 6th.

Nakash (16-0, 12 KO’s) of Haifa , Israel will battle Ryan Carroll (7-1, 4 KO’s) of Delaware , Ohio in the eight round cruiserweight main event.

Shmouel (18-2, 12 KO’s) will battle Khristian Garaci (4-5-1, 2 KO’s) of Pittsburgh in a Jr. Welterweight bout scheduled for six rounds.

These fights have extra meaning as Nakash & Shmouel have pride and country as extra motivation to put an a great performance on February 6th.

In the co-feature, Steve Upsher Chambers (19-1-1, 5 KO’s) battles an opponent to be announced in an eight round Jr. Welterweight bout.

In a six round Light Heavyweight affair, Andre Hemphill (7-9-2, 4 KO’s) takes on an opponent to be announced.

Darren Fallen (12-4-1, six knockouts) battles New Yorker, Jason Thompson (4-3, 3 KO’s) in a six round Jr. Middleweight bout.

Julius Edmonds (3-3) of Philadelphia takes on Linwood Hurd (2-0-3) of Atlantic City in a four round Jr. Welterweight bout.

Derrick Bivins (1-0) takes on debuting Gabriel Gomez in a four round battle of Philadelphia bred Featherweights.

John Turner (1-0, 1 KO) takes on Marcus Bianconi (1-0, 1 KO) of Houston, Texas in a clash of undefeated Middleweights scheduled for four rounds.

Fresh off his twenty-three second knockout, Johnny Pawlowski (2-1-1, 2KO’s) gets it on with Tyrone Miles of Philadelphia, who will be making his pro debut.
