THREE STRIKEFORCE^® TITLE FIGHTS AND THE RETURN OF OSU STAR DANIEL CORMIER HEADLINE JAN. 12, 2013 EVENT IN OKLAHOMA CITY, LIVE ON SHOWTIME^®

STRIKEFORCE^® heads to the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla., on Saturday, Jan. 12 with three championship fights, plus the return of Oklahoma State University star Daniel Cormier, all televised live on SHOWTIME^®. With a collection of some of the best fighters in the world today, STRIKEFORCE has put together a memorable and historic card for the fans in the Sooner State. 

The action-packed night includes the following bouts:

• Gilbert “El Niño” Melendez (champion) vs. Pat Healy for the STRIKEFORCE lightweight title
• Luke Rockhold (champion) vs. Lorenz Larkin for the STRIKEFORCE middleweight title
• Nate Marquardt (champion) vs. Tarec Saffiedine for the STRIKEFORCE welterweight title
• Daniel Cormier (Grand Prix champion, OSU All-American) vs. Dion Staring

JOSH BARNETT & DANIEL CORMIER GRAND PRIX HEAVYWEIGHT TOURNAMENT FINAL

Grand Prix finalist Josh Barnett (31-5), of Fullerton, Calif., tipped the scales at 248 pounds while his undefeated counterpart Daniel Cormier(9-0), of San Jose, weighed in at 238 pounds.

SHOWTIME and SHOWTIME EXTREME Lineups Confirmed For STRIKEFORCE World Grand Prix Heavyeight Final‏

SHOWTIME^® and STRIKEFORCE^® have confirmed the full fight card for Saturday, May 19, when former UFC^® titleholderJosh Barnett will meet two-time Olympic wrestler Daniel Cormier in the much-anticipated conclusion of the STRIKEFORCE^® WORLD GRAND PRIX HEAVYWEIGHT TOURNAMENT. The STRIKEFORCE lightweight championship will be on the line in the evening’s co-feature, a rubber match between two long-time rivals, when champion Gilbert Melendez defends his title against no. 1 contender Josh Thomson.

Also on the SHOWTIME card, former STRIKEFORCE light heavyweight champion Rafael Feijao will rematch against Mike Kyle, whom he lost to on June 6, 2009. In the opening fight of the telecast two up-and-coming welterweights will face-off when Nah-Shon Burrell takes on Chris Spang.
