2008 National Golden Gloves titlist and highly touted junior middleweight Denis “Da Mommas Boy” Douglin makes his return to the ring this Saturday evening at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ when he battles grizzled Philadelphian Phillip McCants.
With a 9-2-1 professional ledger and three wins by knockout, McCants is yet another fighter from the City of Brotherly Love that is tougher than nails. The 30 year old veteran has never been stopped and is known for having solid skills. In his most recent bout, McCants bested 12-2 Kaseem Wilson.
Douglin, 12-1 (8 KO’s), is fighting for the first time since a stunning defeat to Doel Carrasquillo and recognizes that he can’t take anything for granted. Refreshed, retooled and 100% focused on boxing, the Morganville, NJ based Brooklynite is excited to silence his critics with a strong showing.
“I feel great,” said Douglin. “I don’t care who I’m fighting I just want to go out and show people that my last fight was a fluke and that it won’t happen again.”
Tickets to the outstanding evening of boxing, headlined a showdown between Paul Williams and Erislandy Lara.

ADAMEK vs. GUNNIBF CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP UNDER CARD ANNOUNCED JULY 11th - PRUDENTIAL CENTER, NEWARK
Fans of Series have come to anticipate a night of great boxing entertainment when they come to “The Rock”. On Saturday, July 11th that tradition will continue! The main event will feature IBF Cruiserweight Champion, Tomasz Adamek of Glowice, Poland and Jersey City, 37-1, (25 KO’s) as he defends his title against Hackensack, NJ’s, Bobby “The Celtic Warrior” Gunn 18-3-1, (15 KO’s). This event is promoted by Main Events and Ziggy Promotions. Seven exciting matches are slated for the undercard.
In an 8 round Welterweight battle, Paterson’s own, undefeated, Henry Crawford, 21-0-1 (9 KO’s) will take on Kaseem Wilson of Philadelphia, PA, 12-1-1, (4 KO’s). There are a number of southpaws in the Welterweight division but this will be Crawford’s first challenge against a left-handed opponent.
Adding to the Polish frenzy that whips up the Prudential Center whenever Adamek fights in house will be three other matches that feature Polish boxers. In an 8 round fight that Main Events matchmaker, Russell Peltz deems a “very interesting and challenging match”, Super Middleweight, Piotr Wilczweski, of Roztocznik, Poland (22-0, (7 KO’s) will battle Curtis Stevens, of Brooklyn, NY, 20-2, (14 KO’s). Stevens is ranked #15 by the WBO. This may well be Wilczweski’s toughest challenge to date.
Undefeated, Polish patriot, Mateusz Masternak of Wroclaw Poland, 13-0, (8KO’s) will take part in an 8 round Cruiserweight match against Brooklyn resident, Naser Mohamed Aly, 4-3, (2 KO’s). The third Polish fighter on the card will be 2009 Golden Gloves winner, Adam Kownacki of Queens, NY making his pro debut in a 4 round Heavyweight bout.
Ran Nakash a cruiserweight with a current record of 18-0, (14 KO’s) hails from Haifa, Israel, and will take on William Bailey of Chesapeake, VA 10-16-2, (5 KO’s). Nakash, “The Jewish Warrior”, made his living as the trainer of some of Israel’s most elite soldiers in hand to hand combat. He says he fights every single one of his contests with the heart of Israel on his back.
Rounding out the action-packed card and fresh off a recent win will be Morganville, N.J.’s promising middleweight prospect Denis “The Momma’s Boy” Douglin, (3-0, 2 KO’s). Douglin, who had a brilliant amateur career, is trained by his mother, Saphya Douglin. Delen Parsley of Brooklyn, NY will also make his pro debut in the Junior Middleweight division.
A Fan Festival will be held outside Prudential Center at Entry Plaza, Edison and Mulberry Streets from 5:00pm. Food, beverages and music.
See you at the Fights.
Thanks for your time.

I can’t thank Shane, Naazim, Shar’ron, Rock, Dynamite, Khalib and Smash enough. These guys are the best. This place is awesome. I’m so blessed to have them, as well as the support of Rob (Epstein) andDiane (Bennett) of DiamondBoxing, who are sponsoring me and the American Cancer Society again. These are really great people that really believe inme and the campaign. I can’t thank them enough, they gave me a hundred percent and I’m going to give a hundred percent in the fight for them, Patrilla (his young wife who passed away in December 2007) and the American Cancer Society.” Jamaal’s ever present coach, Shar’ron Baker added. “Tyson has gotten in alot of good sparring with Rock Allen, Karl ‘Dynamite’ Dargan, Khalib ‘Big Foot’ Whitmore and Carl ‘Smash’ Scarborough.
