Representing the Gotham Girls Roller Derby were Dainty Inferno andLemony Kickit of the Bronx Gridlock, and Dinah Party and Haulin' Cassof the Queens of Pain. Their two teams will meet for the 2008 seasonchampionship this Saturday, October 25, at the Hunter CollegeSportsplex on Lexington Avenue and 68th Street in Manhattan. Joey led this lively, open-ended discussion, which included the girlsexplaining how and why they got involved with roller derby, thehistory of the sport, its culture, the basic rules and leaguestructure, how it is a do-it-yourself, skater-owned and -operatedventure, and more.
