WealthTV to Telecast Live Undefeated Heavyweight Tyson Fury Bout in the US
WealthTV, the latest destination for boxing's premier live events, will telecast this Saturday's heavyweight showdown between undefeated rising star Tyson Fury and American fan-favorite Vinny Maddalone, live starting at 5 p.m. ET from Hand Arena in Clevedon, Somerset, United Kingdom.
The undefeated 6' 9" Fury (18-0, 13 KOs), fighting out of Cheshire, UK, is the reigning Irish heavyweight champion, who is rated No. 6 by the World Boxing Council ("WBC"). The charismatic 24-year-old giant has defeated four previously unbeaten opponents – Dereck Chisora (14-0), Neven Pajkic (16-0), Marcelo Luiz Nascimento (13-0) and Rich Power (12-0) – in his last seven fights.
Tyson Fury, ranked in the top 10 worldwide by The Ring Magazine and promoted by Hennessy Sports, is coming off an impressive win. In April, Fury scored a third-round technical knockout win over Martin Rogan to clinch the Irish title.
Tyson faces a tough fight as he takes on popular American brawler and proven veteran, Vinny Maddalone from Queens, New York. Maddalone played the role of gatekeeper in the heavyweight division having fought world champions Evander Holyfield, Tomasz Adamek, Jean Marc Mormeck and Al "Ice" Cole during his 13-year professional boxing career.
Maddalone is coming off multiple wins by technical knockout including against Chris Koval (TKO4) and Mike Sheppard (TKO1). Maddalone is promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing.
"With an undefeated record, top 10 world rating by the WBC, and a massive 6'9" physique, the young Tyson Fury is an exciting rising star and must-see heavyweight. We're extremely pleased to showcase this world-class boxing card live to our viewers," stated Robert Herring, Jr. vice president, WealthTV.

Maddalone card with a major PPV event scheduled a week later, on July 14, 2012. The July 14th PPV card features Australian's three-time champ Anthony Mundine taking on Bronco McKart. Mundine has been called one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters in the coveted 154 lbs weight class and has called out the champ in this division.

The International Boxing Hall of Fame announced its flags will fly at half-staff in memory of light heavyweight and heavyweight standout Jimmy Bivins. He passed away yesterday at McGregor Home in East Cleveland, OH. He was 92.
1999 Hall of Fame Inductee Jimmy Bivins
Born December 6, 1919 in Dry Brach, GA, he moved to Cleveland as a youth. He turned pro in 1940. With a strong and quick left jab and excellent defensive skills, from 1941 to 1943 he beat the best fighters in the middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions including Hall of Famers Teddy Yarosz, Billy Soose, Joey Maxim and Ezzard Charles. In an unprecedented move, The Ring ranked Bivins as the number one heavyweight and light heavyweight contender at the close of 1942. The boxing world froze the titles in each weight class during World War II. In March of 1944, Bivins entered the U.S. Army but was honorably discharged in November. During this time he was known as the interim heavyweight champion. In 1945, he knocked out Hall of Famer Archie Moore in six rounds. From June 22, 1942 to February 25, 1946, Bivins went unbeaten in 26 consecutive bouts. Throughout his illustrious career, a world title fight managed to elude Bivins. He retired in 1955 with a record of 86-25-1 and 31 knockouts. He met seven Hall of Famers, beating four, and 11 world champions, defeating eight.
“Jimmy Bivins was a great fighter,” said Hall of Fame Executive Director Edward Brophy. “He fought and beat many of the best fighters of his era. As the boxing community mourns his passing, the Hall remembers his many contributions to the sport.”
In 1999, Bivins was elected into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

TONY ‘CONQUEROR’ CONQUEST Southern Area Cruiserweight Championship 7th July 2012 @ York Hall, London
Whilst all the recent media focus has been on next week’s highly controversial Heavyweight clash, between David Haye and Dereck Chisora, another, and probably far more significant, Clash of the Titans takes place this coming Saturday, with the long awaited showdown, between former British Cruiserweight Champion Leon ‘Solid’ Williams and current Southern Area Champ Tony ‘Conqueror’ Conquest, taking place at York Hall in Bethnal Green.
After three false starts, each due to injury, this most defining of domestic Cruiserweight battles will also decide, for once and for all, just who is the Capital’s true #1 of the division as well as, along the line, earn the winner a shot at the coveted Lonsdale Belt.
The early betting seems to be heavily in favour of Streatham’s Former Champ Williams. No surprise really, as when the pair met as Amateurs, Romford’s Conquest was knocked out in just 45 seconds of the first round!
Earlier today, following his final training session at the TRAD TKO Boxing Gym in Canning Town, Leon Williams spoke briefly on the upcoming battle with his old foe and good friend Tony Conquest, “We’re really good friends but that’s on hold until after the fight, during the fight it’s purely business.
The plan is to just get my rounds in, punch hard and keep pressuring him and get the win, then say sorry afterwards and I’ll be the first to buy him a drink.
Then I want a shot at getting back my British title. That’s the main goal and that’s where my motivation for this fight is coming from. If it wasn’t a stepping stone to get the Lonsdale belt back where it belongs, with me, I probably wouldn’t have taken the fight.
The Southern Area title isn’t really what I want to fight for, I’m not devaluing the title at all, it’s a very worthwhile title, just me and my team feel it is a backward step as I was British Champ earlier this year.
I will get back there, but first I have to win this fight, and I will win this fight. We train hard at the TRAD TKO, me, Johnny (Manager/Coach Johnny Eames) and Barry (co-trainer Barry Smith) and we will get back to where we were, and I will get my British title back.”
Leon ‘Solid’ Williams versus Tony ‘Conqueror’ Conquest for the Southern Area Cruiserweight title co-headlines Olivia Goodwin’s ‘One More Round’ event at York Hall in Bethnal Green, London on Saturday 7th July 2012.

RZA and Tarantino Joint Kung Fu Movie Project Features Cung Le
According to the recently released official trailer above, The Man with Iron Fists apparently casts academy award winner Russel Crowe as a cowboy in feudal China, professional wrestler Dave Batista as Colossus, as Lucy Liu as Han from Enter the Dragon. While there is currently little information available on Cung Le’s part in the story, IMDB lists him as playing a character called Bronze Lyon. Since long-time action movie staple Byron Mann is playing the character Silver Lion, it can be safely deduced that this movie will be an orgy of violence and 1970′s call backs that makes absolutely no sense.
At a budget estimated near 20 million dollars, The Man with Iron Fists is the third biggest film that Le has appeared in, behind Pandorum and Tekken*.

Mike Tyson causes ticket scramble, Broadway run extended
Mike Tyson causes ticket scramble, Broadway run extended
Mike Tyson and Spike Lee have the hottest ticket on Broadway. After announcing last week Lee will direct Tyson in his upcoming one-man show, “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth,” fan response was immediate. To accommodate the demand for tickets, lead producer James L. Nederlander has announced that the show will extend its run with six additional shows.Originally slated to run for a limited six-night engagement from July 31 to August 5, the show will now play through Sunday, August 12.
RESULTS FROM FIGHTS FOR FREEDOM
Salita Promotions in association with The Fight Factory Gym presented sanctioned seven amateur fights plus one exhibition fight on Sunday evening July first at the gym. A crowd of local fans enjoyed every minute of the three round bouts as they cheered their hearts out. The theme for the show was Fights for Freedom in memory of the events of 40 years ago at the Munich Olympic Games when eleven Israeli athletes and coaches, plus a German police officer were murdered by terrorists after being held hostage.
About midway through the show everyone stood for the traditional ten count for those murdered in 1972. Remedy performed a rap number about the tragedy of the Holocaust and the Munich Games. Just before the final fight a dance troop made up of young ladies entertained with some upbeat steps.
“It was a great show,” said Welterweight contender Dmitriy Salita. “We had a nice crowd, and we had great fights. Remedy performed, there were dancers and State Senator David Storobin was here as well. We had celebrities in the crowd. It was all about entertainment. We want to do this again and do it often. We want the fighters to build a fan base with the crowd. It’s what it’s all about and I think we have something here.”
With the help of sponsors some of the proceeds from the evening will go to benefit boxing gyms in Israel. We want to extend a thank you to The Abramson family, Sushi Meshuga, radio/TV show host Aaron Braunstein, , and David Feld King of Diamonds. Their help made this show possible.
