Undefeated cruiserweight contender BJ Flores continues to expand his business interests beyond boxing and real estate in the Phoenix area
PHOENIX, AZ- Undefeated cruiserweight contender BJ Flores continues to expand his business interests beyond boxing and real estate in the Phoenix area, as he has taken on the role of advisor for explosive cruiserweight prospect Erick “Dynamite” Vega.
Said Flores, “Erick is a terrific kid who came to boxing late but has an outstanding upside. He’s been one of my training partners over the last couple of years and I want to help him out with his career as he moves up.”
The 29 year old Vega is coming off a devastating “revenge” second round knockout of JJ McAllister on May 8th at the Biltmore Resort in Phoenix. McAllister had previously knocked out Vega in their first fight. The McAllister KO and other carnage by Vega can be viewed at his website, www.dynamitehands.com
Continued Flores, ‘The McAllister win meant to much to Erick as he had lost to him earlier. This was his fourth knockout win this year and he’s looking to stay very busy in 2008.”
Vega starting boxing as an amateur in 2001 and after sixty amateur bouts was chosen to represent Mexico at the 2004 Olympic Qualifiers held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, losing in the quarterfinals. He was also a semi-finalist in the 2002 National Golden Gloves.
The 29 year old Vega currently sports a professional record of 8-2-1 with six knockouts.
Flores, 21-0 (13KO’s) recently finished up a training camp with Kenny Adams in Las Vegas and is looking to make an announcement on his next fight in the coming weeks. He is currently worked ranked # 2 by the IBF, #7 by the WBO and # 8 by the WBA.

Junior middleweight James Moore to replace trainer Harry Keitt
Junior middleweight James Moore, 15-1 (10 KOS), a native of County Wicklow, Ireland, who fights out of Queens, New York, incurred his first defeat at the Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn, New York, on June 4.
Gabriel Rosado, 10-2 (6 KOS), of Philadelphia, won a unanimous 8 round decision by the scores 77-74, 78-73 and 76-74.
The scoring has caused some controversy because many observers, including Teddy Atlas, who was announcing the fight on ESPN 2, thought Moore did enough to win. Moore was knocked down in the fifth round, but a compelling argument can be made that he won at least five – and quite possibly six – of the other rounds.
Moore, a veteran of 314 amateur fights and the longtime captain of the Irish national amateur team, is now regrouping as he plans to come back stronger than ever in the very near future. Several changes are afoot in the Moore camp, one of which has been the release of longtime trainer Harry Keitt.
While members of Moore’s camp spoke highly of Keitt, it was decided that the fighter would be best served by moving in a new direction. Several trainers are now being considered to begin working with Moore, who is still considered a bright prospect in a red-hot division.

Giovanni Lorenzo ready to break out Saturday night; Top rated Middleweight contender fights ex-champ Marquez on Showtime
Photo; Tom Casino/SHOWTIME
NEW YORK CITY– Unbeaten Dominican middleweight sensation Giovanni “Chico Malo” Lorenzo has planned a breakout party Saturday night when he fights former world champion Raul “El Diamente” Marquez in the 12-round co-feature on Showtime Championship Boxing, live from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
The show is headlined by a super middleweight bout between IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham and Edison Miranda, while Lorenzo-Marquez is an IBF eliminator. “Giovanni’s fight with Marquez is a voluntary IBF eliminator that we took because ‘Gio’ has been criticized for having fought light opposition,” Lorenzo’s co-manager Rich Ryan explained, “so we thought it was a good move to take the Marquez fight and have Giovanni showcased on Showtime. ‘Gio’ is Abraham’s mandatory and if they both win, they’ll build excitement together Saturday night in separate fights, on the same card, for their proposed title bout.”
Lorenzo (26-0, 18 KOs), who represented his native Dominican Republic in the 2000 Olympics, after posting a 247-16 amateur record with 15 gold medals in International competition, now lives in the Washington Heights section of New York City. He is rated No. 1 by the WBC, No. 4 by the IBF (1 and 2 are unrated), No. 8 and No. 9 by the WBO and WBA, respectively, and No. 10 by The Ring.
“I've trained very hard for this fight and I'm looking forward to fighting such a worthy opponent like Marquez,” Lorenzo said. “He is a former world champion who will bring out the best in me. People will see that I am a future champion. I’m not thinking ahead to Abraham at all. My sole focus is Marquez; once I knock off Marquez then we can talk about Abraham. I know it will be a tough fight but I grew up as a kid dreaming that one day I would get a chance to fight Marquez. Now that dream is going to become reality and for a kid from Jerringa Dominican Republic it doesn't get better than that.'
Unquestionably a step-up in competition for the 27-year-old Lorenzo, the still dangerous southpaw Marquez (40-3-1, 29 KOs), 1992 U.S. Olympian, hopes to derail his
Dominican opponent’s plans. Marquez captured the IBF light middleweight title in 1997and he twice successfully defended his belt. His only career losses have been to world champions Jermain Taylor, Fernando Vargas, and “Yori Boy” Campas. Marquez retired in 2004 for two years, when he became a commentator for HBO Latino, but he returned to the ring and has won five of six bouts with a draw.
Lorenzo, whose most notable win to date was a seventh-round TKO of Archak TerMeliksetian (15-2) in 2006, is arguably one of the underrated fighters in the world today. Saturday night the world will learn about this prize-fighting secret from the Dominican Republic.

ARTHUR ABRAHAM & EDISON MIRANDA CAMP NOTES
Their first fight played out like a Hollywood script: rife with drama, incredible two-way exchanges, a broken jaw, multiple head butts, low blows and controversy.
On Saturday, June 21, undefeated middleweight champion Arthur Abraham, and the explosive, hard-hitting Edison Miranda will co-star in the emotionally charged sequel, live on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING at 9 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the west coast). Abraham won the first fight on a hotly disputed unanimous decision in a scintillating affair on September 23, 2006. The 12-round rematch will be contested at a catch weight of 166 pounds.
Arthur Abraham does some light glove work in one of his final workouts before his rematch with Edison Miranda this Saturday on SHOWTIME (9 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast
Abraham and Miranda took time from their workouts Tuesday to offer some insights on how training camp has been, what they thought of their first fight and their views on the rematch.
ARTHUR ABRAHAM
“It is an advantage for me that I already know Miranda. I know how I will fight against him and that is why I know how to prepare. It gives me even more security.
“The fight weight is definitely good for me. I feel even stronger. Making weight can be a real torture but I do not have to do it this time.
“I know that I have to be more active from the first bell on. It is also important to stay concentrated. Miranda is a guy who makes you pay for mistakes. But I will not give him a chance to do so. I will win.
“In the first meeting the broken jaw kept me from showing my true potential. I will make up for that on June 21.”
EDISON MIRANDA
“Abraham is making the biggest mistake of his life. The last time, I broke his jaw when I was weak and struggling to make 160 pounds. At super middleweight I'm so strong it's scary. I'd be surprised if he makes it five rounds.
“The last fight was the worst night of my career because I had the title stolen from me. Now we're on a level playing field and the only thing determining the outcome of this fight will be my fists. And I will get my redemption on Saturday.
“He's a good fighter and I respect him as a fighter. But I will not hesitate to destroy him when we're in the ring. This is a man's business and I don't know if he belongs here anymore.
“Abraham made me wait almost two years for my rematch and on Saturday I will make him pay for every minute I waited.
“I've had my best camp ever. I'm on weight and I'm just climbing the walls waiting for the first bell to ring. After I send Arthur Abraham back home I want to settle another score with Kelly Pavlik. Joe Calzaghe won't fight him, but I will, and it won't be the same story the second time around.”

The Book on David Diaz; MEET WBC LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION DAVID DIAZ; Recent Select Columns on the Human Roadblock; Between Manny Pacquiao and History
LAS VEGAS, NEV- In less than two weeks, World Boxing Council lightweight champion DAVID DIAZ (34-1-1, 17 KOs), from Chicago, defends his world title against boxing's No. 1 pound for pound fighter and reigning WBC super featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao (46-3-2, 34 KOs), from General Santos City, Philippines. Pacquiao will be attempting to become the first Asian fighter to win four sanctioned world titles in as many different divisions. But Diaz is no stranger to pressure or to victory. He defeated Zab Judah twice to earn a berth on the 1996 U.S. Olympic team and successfully defended his world title last year against three-division world champion Erik Morales, thanks to a Herculean effort down the stretch.
Diaz has vowed that Pacquiao will walk out of the ring at Mandalay Bay on June 28 the same way he walks into it...as super featherweight champion and nothing more.

“Cayman Knockout: Championship Boxing” is First Televised Fight in Island’s History
NEW YORK- Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward looks to take the next step toward a world title shot when he battles former Olympian Jerson Ravelo in a 12-round North American Boxing Organization (NABO) super middleweight championship on Friday, June 20, 2008, live on the SHOWTIME series ShoBox: The New Generation 11 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the west coast).
Goossen Tutor Promotions in association with the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism presents “Cayman Knockout: Championship Boxing” from the Royal Watler Cruise Terminal in the capital city of George Town on Grand Cayman. The co-feature of the evening will have Ronald Hearns (18-0, 14 KOs) vs. Jose Luis Gonzalez (12-3-1, 10 KOs) battle it out in a 10-round Junior Middleweight bout.
In addition, highlights of the Eddie Chambers vs. Raphael Butler will be shown during the telecast. Once-beaten heavyweight Chambers (30-1, 16 KOs) will take on hard-hitting, six-foot-four-inch, 260-pound knockout artist, Butler (31-4, 24 KOs) in a 12-round United States Boxing (USBA) heavyweight championship contest.
Ward (15-0, 10 KOs), America’s sole boxing Gold Medalist in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece, brings a string of five consecutive knockout victories into his match-up against Ravelo.
The 24-year-old Oakland, Calif., native is coming off a seventh-round stoppage against the rugged veteran Rubin Williams on March 20, 2008. Prior to that bout, Ward, who has remained active in the ring since turning pro, appeared on ShoBox and stopped then-unbeaten rising star Roger Cantrell on Nov. 16, 2007.
“I want to be the best fighter in my era,” said the six-foot-one Ward. “I will achieve that with class and integrity.
“A victory over Ravelo could put me up in the top-10 for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) super middleweight title.”
While Ward has goals of soon capturing the WBO title, he knows that he must wait and first defeat Ravelo in order to get that opportunity.
“There is a process. My time will come,” Ward said. “Working hard for the NABO national title is part of the plan. The stakes are high."
Ravelo (18-2, 12 KOs) is a 30-year old Dominican and former participant in the highly successful “Contender” boxing series. The Newark, N.J., resident earned an impressive, unanimous decision win over undefeated Paul Buchanan in his most recent bout, following on the heels of a competitive loss to highly-regarded and world-ranked contender Allan Green.
At six-feet-two-inches, Ravelo will prove to be Ward’s first taller and his toughest professional opponent to date.
"It is going to be about preparation for this fight,” Ravelo said. “Ward is a good fighter, and so am I. He is fast, and so am I.”
"I'm not saying I am going to knock Ward out. I'm just going to win. I'm ready to go the full 12 rounds."
While they competed in different Olympics, Ward in 2004 and Ravelo in 2000, the Dominican is familiar with his opponent.
"I supported Ward in the Olympics. I made the Olympics in 2000, and it was a dream of mine to get there. I achieved my goal, and now I will achieve my goal for a championship title on June 20."
A promising prospect with two tough losses, Ravelo says this will be his first bout in perfect health and knows that he has no excuses if he doesn’t come out of the Cayman Islands with a victory.
“I broke my right hand and it was injured for four years without truly healing,” said Ravelo, who took more than a year off following his victory over Buchanan on March 30, 2007. “Now, it is completely healed and it feels good and ready to fight."
Both fighters are facing their most difficult opponent in one another, an ideal that ShoBox: The New Generation, a prospect-oriented series which showcases young fighters in tough, competitive matchups, has been built upon.
“Andre and Jerson are matched tougher than they’ve ever been matched before,” said Steve Farhood, ShoBox’s expert analyst. “Jerson Ravelo is a young veteran and I think he’s definitely the toughest opponent of Andre’s young career.”
“There are a lot of contrasts in this fight. We have east coast, west coast; we have 2004 Olympics vs. the 2000 Olympics; we have an undefeated prospect and young contender in Andre, and young veteran in Jerson who wants what Andre has.”
Both Ward and Ravelo have been on ShoBox before, and each win brings them closer to the ultimate goal of becoming a world champion.
“It’s an extremely important fight at this point in their careers,” said Gordon Hall, executive producer of ShoBox. “Hopefully the winner will eventually go on and win a world title and become the 27th fighter that has fought on ShoBox and went on to win a world title.”
Promoter Dan Goossen knows that while the Cayman Islands provide an amazing backdrop for boxing match, the true excitement will take place in the ring.
"Ward faces his toughest test against Ravelo," Goossen said. "On June 20, Ward and Ravelo will do all of their trash talking with their fists."
The Hearns-Gonzalez bout should prove to be as exciting and surprising as the main event. While Hearns is undefeated as a professional, Gonzalez had over 300 amateur fights and one of the very few blemishes on his resume came by a draw against Jason LeHoullier (21-0).
“Gonzalez is a pressure type of fighter,” said Hall. “It should be a good test for Hearns, who had a very limited amateur career and, with only 18 fights on his resume, is still learning and developing.”
Blow-by blow announcer Nick Charles will call the action from ringside with expert analyst and boxing historian Steve Farhood at his side. The executive producer of "ShoBox" is Gordon Hall with Richard Gaughan producing.

Duddy training in Miami for Boston fight; Headlining “Hassle In The Castle” on June 28
NEW YORK– Undefeated world middleweight contender “Ireland’s” John Duddy is training in Miami with his new trainer, Pat Burns, for his return to Boston on Saturday night, June 28 against Charles Howe, headlining “Hassle In The Castle” at The Castle in downtown Boston.
“I’m looking forward to fighting again in Boston,” Duddy said from training camp. “I’ve fought there and visited Boston many times. The atmosphere there is very friendly with so many of my family, friends and fans living there. The Castle is familiar territory for me, especially with so many irish there. I’m looking to give them a good experience.”
Duddy (24-0, 17 KOs), a native of County Derry in N. Ireland, living and fighting out of Queens, New York, is presently rated No. 2 by the WBC and No. 3 by the WBO, as well as No. 5 by the WBA and No. 10 by the IBF. Howe (17-4-2, 9 KOs), fighting out of Ohio, is coming off of the only loss in his last 14 fights, dating back nearly eight years, to WBC USNBC champion Joey Gilbert in their title fight last September.
“Training camp has been normal but we implemented weight training – three times a day, five times a week – and I rarely have a day off,” Duddy commented on his first training camp with Burns, who trained Jermain Taylor to the world middleweight championship. “Monday through Friday I do my regular boxing training. I run early in the morning around a track at a local park, as well as over a bridge and in another park. It hasn’t become monotonous because there are so many different routes we run.
“I’m feeling great. You know, my last few fights, some people have said I looked smaller. Even my mother and father said that. I didn’t really feel it but we’ve been working on me being stronger. I’ve enjoyed it. It’s been great working with Pat. I’ve enjoyed our time together and I like his ideas. His brother, Joseph, has been a great help, conditioning-wise. I do what I do. I love training to fight. The preparation for my next fight has been great but, at the end of the day, all that matters is what I do in the ring. I’m looking forward to doing much better than I did my last fight.”
South Boston middleweight Donald Orr (12-0, 5 KOs), 2000 Canadian Olympian, is scheduled to fight an opponent to be determined in the 8-round co-feature.
On the undercard, Worcester (MA) middleweight prospect Edwin Rodriguez (6-0, 5 KOs), 2-time U.S. National amateur champion, steps up in competition to fight Hector Hernandez (10-2-2, 4 KOs) in a 6-round bout.
Boston-based cruiserweight Mark Clancy (7-0-1, 1 KO), 4-time Irish National amateur finalist, faces Salah Zabian (6-10, 4 KOs), of Lee (MA), in a 6-rounder. Lynn (MA) junior welterweight Simeon Dunwell (7-0, 2 KOs) puts his unbeaten record on the line versus Aaron Drake (13-6, 9 KOs). Philadelphia super featherweight Frank Trader (1-0, 0 KOs) is also slated to fight on the card in a 4-round match versus TBA. All bouts and fighters are subject to change.
Tickets are priced at $50.00 $75.00 and $100.00 and are available at The Kells (Jerry Quinn – 617.733.4535) in Allston, Porter Belly’s (Sean McCormack and Pat O’Sullivan – 617.254.3300) in Brighton, Shenanigans Bar & Grill (Shay Harris – 617.269.9509) in South Boston, and The Banshee Pub (617.436.9747). Tickets are also available at the usual Irish Ropes outlets in New York City and by going on line at www.irishropes.com. Doors open at 6:30 PM/ET, first bout at 7:30 PM/ET.

Boxer/Rapper Mitchell Rose Suing Hip Hop Icon Jay-Z!
New York hip hop artist and former pro boxer Mitchell Rose announced that he has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Shaun “Jay-Z” Carter. Rose’s claim states that on March 12th, 2001 following the William Joppy-Felix Trinidad fight; he handed Jay-Z his demo, which featured tracks in which he used a whispering tone. Rose’s claim continues that shortly after he handed over the tape, Jay-Z stole the style from him and started to use it in his own songs.
“I saw Jay-Z as we were leaving the arena after the fight, gave him my tape, and asked him to listen to it”, explained Rose, who also wrote a book called Mike Tyson Tried To Kill My Daddy. “He took the demo with him and shortly after that he began using the whispering (which he now frequents) in his songs. I had previously trained some of my artists to use that style, but it quickly became obsolete after Jay-Z got a hold of it. He used the whispering to enhance his music and financially benefit from it. Jay-Z disregarded the fact that it was my demo where he got the style from as he went on to use it for his own personal gains, which is wrong”..
Rose has served the lawsuit papers two of Jay-Z’s night clubs and will shortly be sending them to Def Jam Records’ headquarters, where Jay-Z is the CEO.

SHOWTIME Will Re-air Their Memorable First Fight For The First Time On U.S., Television June 16, 19 on SHO2 and June 21 on SHOWTIME
NEW YORK– Their first fight played out like a Hollywood script: rife with drama, incredible two-way exchanges, a broken jaw, multiple head butts, low blows and controversy.
In the SHOWTIME co-feature, undefeated middleweight Giovanni Lorenzo (26-0, 18 KOs) of New York, by way of Dominican Republic, will face Raul Marquez (41-3, 29 KOs) of Houston, Texas, by way of Mexico, in an IBF World Championship eliminator. The two-fight telecast will originate from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and is promoted by Seminole Warriors Boxing and Sauerland Event in association with The Seminole Tribe of Florida.
Setting the stage for the most anticipated rematch since Marquez-Vazquez II, SHOWTIME will re-air Abraham-Miranda I for the first time on U.S. television this Monday, June 16, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME 2™, again on Thursday, June 19, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on SHO2 and on Saturday, June 21, at 6 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME®.
Miranda (30-2, 26 KOs), long known as one of the most feared punchers in boxing, delivered considerable punishment in the first fight. Miranda broke Abraham’s jaw with vicious shots to the head early in the bout and blood flowed steadily from Abraham’s mouth until the final bell.
Miranda, fighting on Abraham’s home turf in Germany, lost five points for low blows and head-butts. Abraham, (26-0, 21 KOs) the current IBF middleweight champion, survived the brutal injury to win a decision by five, six and seven points respectively on the judges scorecards to retain his title.
“In all my life as a boxing fan, and as a producer for more than 20 years, I have never seen anything like it,” said David Dinkins Jr., executive producer of SHOWTIME Sports telecasts, of Abraham’s broken jaw. “For a guy to fight through that kind of injury—and win—is truly remarkable. There’s some unfinished business here. I am really looking forward to seeing them go at it again.”
Fans should look for the same kind of thrilling action on June 21.
“Miranda doesn’t have to fear me in the ring, but he sure better respect my skills,” Abraham said. “I’m going to fight my fight and if he wishes to stand in the ring with me, he better respect my talents.”
“I’m training twice a day,” continued Abraham. “My sparring partners have been excellent. This is the right rematch at the right time.”
Miranda has since moved up to super middleweight where he is much more comfortable and looked dominant in his last two fights.
“The adjustment from middleweight to super middleweight hasn’t been tough at all,” Miranda said. “I feel great at this weight. My punching power didn’t decrease as many thought it would. I fight with a lot more energy at this weight.”
The undefeated Abraham has dominated the middleweight division since he won the vacant IBF belt with a fifth round knockout over Kingsley Ikeke on Dec. 10, 2005. He has made seven successful defenses, four coming by way of knockout.
Nicknamed “King Arthur,” Abraham has brutal power having knocked out more than 80 percent of his opponents.
One of boxing’s most devastating punchers, Miranda is no stranger to world title belts and eliminators. Miranda’s only other loss came against current WBC and WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik in a WBC eliminator on May 18, 2007.
After the loss to Pavlik, Mirada moved up to super middleweight. On Oct. 30, 2007, he defeated Henry Porras with a fifth-round TKO and in his last fight he demolished David Banks on Jan. 11, 2008 with a brutal third-round knockout.
SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING announcers Steve Albert and Al Bernstein will call the action from ringside with Jim Gray reporting from ringside. The telecast will be produced by Chuck McKean with Bob Dunphy directing. Dinkins is the executive producer of SHOWTIME Sports.

GIOVANNI LORENZO: Lorenzo began camp on January 6 in Yonkers, NY. He says his biggest obstacle in camp has been the “104-degree gym temperatures” in the gym thanks to New York’s recent heat wave. He has sparred approximately 60 rounds for the bout, but will not reveal who his sparring partners are out of superstition. In a recent interview with www.boxingconfidential.com , Lorenzo said his trainer “Pastor Ralph” doesn’t believe in a lot of sparring because fighters develop a “sparring mentality and that has a negative effect”.
Pastor Ralph Farrait is an ordained minister who runs a church in the south Bronx called Corner Stone. He has worked in the past with Saoul Mamby, Aaron Davis, Andrey Tsurkan, and Darling Jimenez. Pastor Ralph says that while watching fighters train at Gleason’s Gym he noticed that many of the fighters who sparred a lot began to mimic the styles of those they were working against in training. Not only would they pick up the bad habits of the other fighters, but they would become predictable as well. Limiting those sparring sessions lessens the likelihood of that happening. Lorenzo agrees and believes that less sparring has made him a more dangerous puncher as is evidenced by his recent knockout ratio.
Somehow I don’t think this is what is meant by the term road work:
A few weeks ago as he and his trainer were returning from his physical conditioning work in Long Island, NY, they became embroiled in a huge traffic jam on the Grand Central Parkway. Traffic stopped moving and Lorenzo, like a race horse at the starting gate, was eager to get home and finish his road work. Frustrated by the bumper-to-bumper congestion, he jumped out of the car and started towards the parkway. Pastor Ralph screamed at him to get back in the car because they were still 6 -7 miles from the Whitestone Bridge. Lorenzo insisted that he would finish his road work alongside the parkway and meet him at the foot of the bridge, before darting in between cars towards the shoulder of the road. Eventually Pastor Ralph arrived at the entrance to the bridge and found Lorenzo sitting on the side of the road, exhausted. Not satisfied with just making it to the bridge Lorenzo forced himself to run it in record time because he was intent on “beating you there Pastor Ralph.”
RAUL MARQUEZ: “After I beat Bronco McKart I took off a week and then went right back to the gym to stay in shape. I’ve been in camp for about eight weeks” . . . Marquez alternates between sprints and long distance running. Some days he’ll run ¼ or ½ mile sprints, other days he’ll run for 45 consecutive minutes. The purpose is to “change it up so we don’t get bored” . . . The former champ spars twice per week. He mainly works the pads and pounds the heavy bag. “The hardest sparring I go in one session would be eight or nine rounds. It’s a tough workout with the heat and humidity here in Houston and fresh sparring partners coming in every couple of rounds.” Marquez works with four different sparring partners. Two are super middleweights, one is a light heavyweight, and the last is a tall, lanky heavyweight. Two of the sparring partners are top-five national amateurs . . . “It’s been a good camp,” says Marquez. “I can’t complain. No injuries. My weight’s good. The McKart fight helped me. Last year I fought twice and stopped both guys early. The 10 rounds of work against McKart helped me with my confidence . . .
